Welcome to The World of K2

Introducing K2: A firm believer in letting music speak for itself and hard work paying off. Starting out as a grime artist and spending some time inside, the music styles he enjoys has matured along with his lyrical content. This gave birth to the Hip Hop artist that you hear today.

How would you describe your style?

I'd describe my style as versatile and confident. It is important that you believe in the music that you make. My formula for composing a song varies. Sometimes I make beats and write lyrics to go with them while I'm at home or I write lyrics on the go and think of a suitable beat to go with them later.

What is your view on the industry?

People are out here working hard and I respect them for it, but the UK scene needs more love in terms of the quality of music being produced. Their are artists that are in positions to bring in talented underground artists, so they should start doing it more often like the Americans do because the talent is here. The UK Hip Hop scene has taken a bad turn. Rappers need to be more creative and rely less on gimmicks.

What music genres do you listen to?

I'm eclectic when it comes to music. I listen to everything but if I break it down it's got to be Hip Hop, Motown and Old School Rock.

Which artists are you feeling?

2 Pac is my favourite rapper of all time.

UK-Tinchy Stryder, Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32, Giggs and Dat Boy Megz

US-Lil Wayne, Drake, Jay Z and Kanye West

I like rappers that make you think and elevate my mind with their lyrics. This makes me do my reseach on what they are talking about. I like when I think 'Did you just say that?' because of their word play.

Which artist would you most like to collaborate with?

If I had to pick 3 UK artists they'd be
Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32 and Chipmunk. I would have said Tinchy Stryder but we have a tune together already.

If I had to pick 3 US artists
Drake, Jay Z and Lil Wayne

What are your views on female rappers?

I don't knock anybody's hustle even though some may talk nonsense in their music. I liked Lady Leshurrr on that 'Female Takeover' tune. She's animated which is entertaining.

What can look forward to from you?

My single 'Bigger' is out now
A single with Tinchy Stryder and a guest artist
My single with Rapid (of Ruff Squad)
